In this 15 hour workshop, John Kittle will guide students through his practical approach for drawing and painting in watercolor, using photo reference materials. John will cover how to draw through observation of structure, features, and shadow patterns. He will also explain materials and the mechanics of handling color, color mixing, and controlling edges. Other topics to be discussed will be understanding water-to-paint ratios, and how to control the medium when painting. In each 5 hour session, there will be a demo each morning with instruction and time for students to paint in the late morning and afternoon to practice techniques on their own works. This class is geared toward having fun, sharpening skills, and painting expressively in watercolor. No prior classes required, but this class will build on skills you may already have. Drawing skills are a plus. 🙂
Materials are not provided. A materials list will be provided upon registration. Class is limited to 12 students.
